Rumble - Fintech Design System

Rumble is a financial recommendations app by Thndr. I came in as the sole designer during a fast-paced pre-launch sprint, collaborating closely with the product manager, marketing, developers, and a financial advisor who helped me make sense of a world I knew nothing about. We built the entire UI design system from scratch: 50+ components, type and color foundations, spacing systems. The biggest challenge wasn't only design, but restraint. It was learning an entirely new domain (financial analysis, trading concepts, fintech UX patterns) fast enough to make good design decisions. And knowing when to hold back on a better idea because launch comes first. It taught me an important skill in mvp design: separating the “must-haves” from the “nice-to-haves”, and being okay with shipping the former.
